The N Advanced MICH TACTICAL Helmet is built to the US Army's performance and ballistics requirements for impact, retention, and other head protection factors.
Lighter than the previous infantry helmet, the PASGT, the new MICH features a much more ergonomic design. The helmet shell fit also eliminates the peak or visor and has a higher positioned side moulding, which improves the field of vision.
The CSC11 helmet also includes an improved 4-point suspension and restraint system, so that these are anchored to the helmet structure with special ballistic grade hardware.
It includes two possible adjustments of the harness, both at the front and at the back, allowing for the perfect fit and ensuring adequate stability.
Includes side rails and velcro patches to attach accessories.
Tests, trials, approvals
The CSC11 helmet is NIJ certified as well as V50 anti-fragment tested and various other ballistic tests.
Structure design;
The CSC11 MICH helmet has been designed to offer the best protection/weight ratio, without being uncomfortable with the ballistic protection vest, while allowing the use of long weapons and intercom in a comfortable way. Its protective surface in the most common size M is 0.11m2.
Composition:
The helmet is manufactured using a proprietary “composite” system of pressing aramid fabric and ultra-high molecular density polyethylene (UHMW-PE), which gives it excellent weight, ballistic and impact protection, and is fire retardant.
Ballistic performance
The CSC11 MICH caco has been designed to comply with NIJ 0106.01 regulations, being tested with projectiles as follows:
.44 Magnum SJHP with mass 15.6g and velocity of 436 m/s
.357 Magnum JSP with mass 8.1g and velocity 448 m/s
.357 Magnum JSP with mass 10.2g and velocity 436 m/s
9mm FMJ RN with mass 8.0g and velocity 448 m/s
.40 S&W FMJ with mass 11.7g and velocity 352 m/s
Maximum ballistic performance.
The CSC11 helmet has also been subjected to the following test, which consists of 4 shots of the 9mm, as detailed and of course without penetration:
NIJ Projectile Mass (grains) Max. velocity ft/sec (m/sec) No. of impacts
IIIA 9 mm FMJ 124 1,450 (442) 4
Performance in the face of fragmentation
The MICH helmet is designed to meet MIL-STD-662F as follows:
FSP fragment mass (Grains) V50 Ft/sec (m/sec)
17 2332(700)
Low speed impact performance
The MICH helmet has been designed to ensure the user's protection against impacts from low-speed objects according to EN 397
